Work it Out Wednesday: Countdown to New Years 2011 "Get It Tight Before Midnight" Fitness Challenge

The holiday season is fast approaching and for some of us, it’s the last few months to try to live out everything we resolved to do at the start of 2010.  Now while you may not be able to master Mandarin in these last 2 and change months, you still have ample time to step up your health and fitness routine so that you can look dynamite in your New Years Eve “freakum” dress (or nighty, depending on your destination).
So join me in the countdown to 2011 with the “Get it Tight by Midnight” Challenge.  The Challenge will incorporate lessons from Bob Harper of the Biggest Loser as well as fitness regimens from various workout magazines, and tips for adjusting your diet to support your new goals.  This will not be an easy challenge as it will force many of us to really confront the ‘man in the mirror’.  So subscribe and join this challenge!  Let’s get started.
Week 1:
You must begin to think of yourself as becoming the person you want to be.David Viscott
Day 1:  Before we get started, take your weight and if possible a before shot.   This will serve as motivation down the road.  Sometimes pictures show the small changes that we do not notice.  Be sure to use the same scale each week.  This will ensure consistencies with your weigh in.  Additionally, it is best to weigh yourself on the same day and around the same time each week.  Reflect on your observations and write down some preliminary goals (long-term and short-term).  Be realistic.  That’s it for day 1.
P.S. Don’t let those numbers on the scale get you down.  They are just that, numbers, and with this challenge they will only be temporary.
